Church Council Survey
.
On November 10, 2013, a St. Helena Church Family Council Meeting was called with the purpose of prayer and gleaning from church attendees what the "state of the church" is and what we can do from this point.  About 100 people joined in the evening, which began with a beautiful meal spread out by a handful of members and youth with their family -- a youth mission trip fundraiser which garnered over $600.  A HUGE THANK YOU to the crew that prepared, served, and cleaned
up the dinner. It was a delicious draw! Isabel, Jackee, Janelle, Kayla, Klaudia, Louie, Phillip & Terry.

The answers in the lists below are a result of a questionnaire handed out the previous two Sabbaths.

  • The best way to get people involved with each other is to become acquainted and learn about individuals. I think the family time should be just that. Each week we could bring one family up front and ask them a few questions about their family (like the ID questions in the newspaper about business owners). Also, ask them what it something that would surprise others about you to bring out interesting facts others could relate to or comment on later with them. They should be given the ten questions in advance. Also, each family time should have a short presentation by a SS class or a song. The family time isn’t really a family time anymore. The family time should have a short presentation by a SS class or a song. The family time isn’t really a family time. This time period would be a good time to give kids some duties with the church.

  • Reach out to Kids Reach and provide for them quarterly and do a Christmas Party for them, or reach out to those that are really needy in our church family helping them with what they need.
If we encounter difficulties, and in Christ’s strength overcome them; if we meet enemies, and in Christ strength put them to flight; if we accept responsibilities, and in Christ’s strength discharge them faithfully, we are gaining a precious experience.  We learn, as we could not otherwise learn, that our Savior is a present help in every time of need.  5 Testimonies, P 34
